The origin of the Paper Traders’ Association, Bombay, dates back to a few years earlier than 1941, probably it may be 1938 or even earlier. Many paper merchants still remember very well that the meetings of the Association in those unrecorded years were held at the shop of late Shri Kikabhoy Chandabhoy for which we have no records to guide us. We have now some written records, though even those are all too meager for the purpose of a well-knit story of the origin and activities of the Association during the years 1941 to 1944. However, it may be stated now, with a sense of nostalgia, that the seed which was sown in 1938 sprouted and blossomed into the Paper Traders Association, Bombay in the year 1941.
